My little one, that's what I've always called her, turns 17 today.


17 things about my little one........

1. She's an animal lover.  She has never found a stray that she has not begged to keep.  Every gift list always includes an animal.  This year was no exception.  A puppy and goldfish were on the list.  She's getting neither.

2.  She is a morning person to the fullest.  She wakes up with a smile and always greets me without fail, "hi mama" in the morning.

3. She loves daisies.

4. The girl is seriously afraid, no make that completely freaked out, of butterflies.

5.  She, like her mother, has a sweet tooth and has never met a dessert that she couldn't resist.

6. She is a die hard Boston Celtics fan.  Rajon Rondo is her man.

7.  She would wear a dress everyday if the weather would cooperate.

8.  She has a knack for being organized.   She could spend forever in the Container Store.

9. She is my compassionate one.

10. She loves to read.  It's borderline annoying.  We've had to tell her to leave her book in the car on more than one occasion when visiting family or going to a restaurant.

11. But that love of reading also means she loves to read the Word of God and for that I am very, very thankful.


12. She's not one who likes attention.

13. She has the most amazing smile.

14. She was recently inspired by the documentary 'Waiting for Superman' and has decided that she wants to be a teacher.

15. When she lets her guard down she can be just as goofy as the rest of us.

16. She's a knitter.  If she catches wind of someone having a cold neck she pulls out those needles and starts knitting away a scarf for them.

17. She's 17.  And she's still my little one.
